The difference between you and insanely fit people

You know the difference. You’ve seen it. You’ve probably wished you could be more like them.

More than likely, they got where they are with less effort. Somehow, they burn more calories when not doing the same work you do.

While many of us view exercise as a chore, there are those who find joy in each workout. You may wish you could be more like them, but then again, there are some habits you don’t want to emulate.

Overeating or undereating is not in the Insanely Fit book of habits. Working out for hours on end without any follow up is not needed. Nor is abusing or neglecting your body. There’s just something special about the way crazy fit people approach things that allows them to get better results.

And while you may not but them on a pedestal while you stay on your couch watching reality TV. Still, there’s a bit of envy at their ability. Here’s a look at some of the habits they’ve developed.

Make health a lifestyle

Making health choice is something that is done over a period of time. You need to ensure that you value your health and make a choice to improve it.

You can get a fitness or a health coach to help you achieve your goals. A coach will motivate you to meet your goals and help you to develop healthy habits that will sustain weight loss.

You should establish a healthy eating routine and make it a habit. Abiding by this routine will ensure that you’re taking your diet seriously and that you’re getting all nutrients that the body needs.

Schedule your workouts and do them as indicated. Ensure that you are sticking to your schedule without exception. As you do this, make sure that you have a planned out strategy to ensure that you stick to your workout routine.

Get enough sleep. Sleeping for 6 hours or less can lead to an increased risk of diabetes, heart diseases, cancer and weight gain. At night, the body uses the resting time to regenerate and heal itself. Getting enough sleep improves your mood and promotes brain health.

Understand that there are things you don’t know. And learn them!

If you aspire to be in top athletic condition, you acknowledge that fitness is a broad category of activities. You also acknowledge that your knowledge of fitness isn’t complete, that you don’t know everything. You can use this to your advantage by admitting that there are things that you need to learn.

Being an expert in something means that you have a deep knowledge of the subject. You’re also aware of all of the other things out there that can enhance your knowledge and help you go further.

This attitude of curiosity helps you listen to what you’re being told (which sounds different than “Listening to the noise coming out of another person’s mouth”). When you’re curious, you want to learn about what’s new in the fitness world.

As soon as you find out about something, through reading, listening, or watching, you can take action to learn more.

Simple workouts and lifestyle

Habits of super fit people, that you can apply to your life.

They work on a strict plan

Most of the time the gym goers who don’t see the results they want to see are the ones who go to the gym and keep doing random things for hours.

Starting your workout isn’t the problem, but finishing it is. There are a lot of people who alternate between different exercises, but that’s not what works best.

Choose a plan or a workout routine that you can stick to and eventually you’ll see great results.

They have accessories that match their lifestyle

They look away from machine-based work and look towards exercises that they can do in the comfort of their home (or where ever they like).

Some of them practice yoga, but “yoga” in its original sense meaning that it’s something that everyone can do.

If you would want to call yourself a true yoga-fan, get yourself a nice yoga mat and some other accessories, and of course, if you have a steady spot to do it, do it!

Focus on how You feel about yourself

No one want to feel physically ill and have to battle the symptoms everyday when there are so many other things to do. One of the habits of insanely fit people is to ensure that they live life to the fullest. That may mean that you go to the gym and exercise or it may be having a glass of wine with your friends or a good book.

What you want to do here is to be aware of how you feel. When you feel good, you are thought to be happier and the body and mind react to the positive feelings. You feel happy, your brain releases serotonin, and the rest of your body responds with an increase in endorphins.

From this, you can love yourself more and do the things that make you happy. As a result, you get in the habit of feeling good and this is a positive review of your health program.

If you find that you have negative thoughts, then work on changing them. You can set out an affirmation plan. One example is that you focus on how you feel good and anything that grips you should be welcomed as a way of leading you to a good health.

Follow the 85/15 rule

When it comes to following a healthy diet, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of possibilities. Resist the urge to fad or “cleanse” your way to fitness. Focus your diet on whole, nutritious foods instead.

Follow a diet filled with a variety of fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds. Then fill the rest of your plate with moderate servings of lean meat or fish, healthy fats like olive oil, and modest amounts of dairy products and beans.

Don’t sweat the cleanliness of your plate. Make sure the food you consume is good for you. Get rid of that number on the scale and instead calculate your body fat percentage. Focus on getting lean, not skinny.

Listen, we get it. It’s hard to mentally switch gears between a day of calorie-counting and a day of healthful feasting. But you don’t necessarily have to compromise your weight loss goals just because you’re on vacation.

Choose a handful of meals that meet your nutritional standards and plan the rest of your meals somewhat loosely. Remember that you’re on vacation and will be consuming more calories than usual, so you may need to double or even triple your normal meals.

Get enough sleep

Some people get so obsessed with working out that they never want to rest. This only leads to dehydration, lack of appetite and other health problems.

Getting enough sleep is one of the most important habits of an insanely fit person. If you constantly deprive yourself of sleep, you will find it extremely difficult to maintain your fitness regimen. To stay fit and healthy, you need to get at least 7 – 8 hours of sleep per night.

There are various biological reasons for this such as the building up and repair of muscles, recovery of muscles and hence the prevention of injuries.

Why does this happen? As you sleep, your body releases HGH. HGH stands for human growth hormone and it helps you maintain a toned body.

Getting enough sleep does help you lose weight and maintain a fit body.

Scientists from UCLA, University of Chicago and Northwestern carried out a study on 54 men and women with a body mass index of between 25 and 40.

The subjects were also randomly assigned a 6 or 8 hour sleep for 17 days. You can probably guess the outcomes.

The subjects that got 8 hours of sleep had reduced belly fat, lowered ghrelin levels and lower insulin.

When you are constantly up and about, you will definitely accumulate belly fat and have other health problems.

Calorie needs of people vary based on age, gender, amount of muscle mass, etc.

Keep a schedule

Most people gain weight when they don’t exercise because they stop eating well and they don’t stick to a schedule. When you have this bad habit, it’s because you’re not focusing on being disciplined.

This is why you need to have clear goals. Start by setting a schedule. You can’t invest hours in working out if you don’t know when you’ll do it. Once your schedule is done, you need to stick to it.

For best results, you’ll want to take some time to determine what times you should exercise. Make sure you choose a time where you’re not that busy at work or home. If you can’t do it in the morning, do it in the evening. It’s all about having a schedule so your body will want to go to the gym or go for a run even before you realize it.

Compete and make it fun

It’s easy to get a workout in when you’re having fun. So if running or going to the gym isn’t all that enjoyable for you, find something else that you enjoy and get fit that way. Go for a walk with your friends, compete against each other in your favorite video games, or even start a local soccer league and play with the kids in your neighborhood.

While you do all of these things, make it fun for yourself and you’re more likely to stick to them as part of your lifestyle.

It’s about you loving yourself

And taking care of yourself with good habits that make you feel good.

So, are you going to take the first step by reading this article and learning about the eight habits of insanely fit people?
